Ready homeware — 14-day right of withdrawal

For our ready, in-stock homeware (boards, coasters, the wall shelf and the step stool), if you are a consumer you may withdraw within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason, under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven). Tell us by a clear statement to info@calaverelle.com; you then have a further 14 days to send the goods back, complete and in re-saleable condition. We refund within 14 days of receiving them, to the original means of payment, including the standard outbound delivery charge.

Made-to-order furniture — withdrawal does not apply

Furniture built to your specification — your choice of size, timber and finish — is exempt from the right of withdrawal under section 22 of the angrerettloven, because it is made to order and cannot be resold as stock. Please check your measurements, timber and finish carefully before you confirm, as a made-to-order order cannot be cancelled once production has begun. This does not affect your rights if a piece arrives faulty or damaged, or is not as described.

Cost of return

For a ready homeware return the direct cost of return is yours. For a large item on a pallet we can book the collection and invoice it at cost — tell us before you send anything.

If something is faulty

The seller is liable for defects under the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven). For goods meant to last substantially longer — which solid-wood furniture is — the complaint period (reklamasjon) is five years. Tell us within a reasonable time of discovering a fault and we will put it right by repair, replacement or, where the law allows, a refund. Natural variation in grain and colour, and normal seasonal movement of solid wood, are not defects; nor is damage from misuse, or from keeping the furniture in damp or very dry conditions.

None of this affects your statutory rights.
