Scope
These terms apply to all orders placed through calaverelle.com by consumers and business customers.
Contract
The presentation of goods is not a binding offer. By placing an order you make a binding offer; the contract is concluded when we confirm the order. For made-to-order furniture, confirmation of your specification (size, timber and finish) forms part of the contract and production then begins.
Prices and payment
All prices are shown in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and are the price you pay for the goods; shipping is added at checkout. Payment is due on ordering, by the means offered at checkout. Goods are dispatched from Norway — for deliveries outside Norway, any import duty, VAT or clearance fee in the destination country is payable by the recipient.
What we sell
We make dining tables, beds and occasional furniture to order in solid oak and American black walnut, and we sell a small range of ready solid-wood homeware. Dimensions, timber, finish options and lead times stated on a listing are for the piece as described; because each made-to-order piece is built from natural timber, grain and colour will not be identical to a photograph.
How made-to-order works
Most of what we sell is built by hand after you order it, in solid oak or walnut, to the size and finish you choose. Lead times are stated on each listing and start once the details are confirmed. Because a made-to-order piece is built to your specification, it cannot be put back on the shelf — this is why the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to it (see below). Solid wood is a natural material: grain, colour and small seasonal movement vary from piece to piece, and that is the character of the material, not a fault.
Delivery and assembly
Delivery is made to the address you give and is kerbside for pallet goods. Most tables and beds are delivered flat or in sections with fixings and instructions for straightforward assembly. We supply the furniture; we do not provide an installation service.
Retention of title
The goods remain our property until paid for in full.
Withdrawal and complaints
Ready homeware carries the 14-day right of withdrawal under the angrerettloven; made-to-order furniture, being made to your specification, does not (section 22). The seller's liability for defects under the forbrukerkjøpsloven, with a five-year complaint period for furniture, applies to everything we sell. Both are set out in the Refund Policy.
Governing law
Norwegian law applies. If you are a consumer, you also keep the benefit of the mandatory consumer protection of the law of the country in which you are resident, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
